LOOSE ENDS AND THE POET'S ENLIGHTENMENT
a poem by John Eric Gulliksen
(remove the "i" and the "r")

I went through the collection today and said
_I don't dig it
I don't dig it
Idon't dig it-
Man when I have a bag change
I have a bag change when man

The poet smashed screaming
through a stained glass window
(there was a picture of Christ on it, I believe
it might have been Bodhi Dharma)
and spattered on the sidewalk forty-seven floors below

The poet got up and laughed
and then he walked away

***

***

I'm gonna tell it like it is, baby
you're gonna die die die DIE DIE

***

***

This is it, baby
the wheel is rolling
and the mind is blown
the dam has burst burst burst BURST BURST

***

i smashed screaming
through a stained glass window
(there was a picture of Christ on it, he believed
it might have been Bodhi Dharma)
and spattered on the sidewalk forty-seven floors below

   got up and laughed
and then   walked away

***

I wonder what will happen to my brain
when DIE and BURST meet inside it?
I'll probably get BURSTIED
which won't mean much to the uninitiate
ego ego ego

***

thought  'd run out of egos
but the very fact that   wouldn't use
gave    a new one
