a poem by John Eric Gulliksen

Beauty is
as beauty isn't

Golden tresses
flashing eyes
communicate only to the beastial

There is but one real world
and humanity runs rampant
it makes me sad

grooving in paranoia
turn on
tune in

better to negate put-on laughter
and drop in sometime

-Watch it! I can kill!-
but WHO
is I
beneath the greasepaint?

Happy is
as happy isn't

a tear makes its absence sweet
and balance is found

Beauty is
as you and I
We are our own justification
