RAMBLINGS SOMEWHERE ELSE
a poem by John Eric Gulliksen

Spitting into a mass of gardenias
rotten since the last funeral

-I think!-

I have excercised my notoriety
in striving for that future humility

Eaten, a shallow rose may tarnish

Fancy dwells in farthest star-gardens
yellow and green
shimmering curtains

none but truth
can bring forth the smallest bud
and
a drop of red
blood
will cause dissolution

Semi-fashioned mind
begone!
for never shall you
cleave
