MISTY CITY
a poem by John Eric Gulliksen

misty city
shadow life
beckon to my high window
flickerflash
flickerflash

beacons
smoke rings
breath that stinks

don't tell your wife
for there is no other world
sometimes

hear it rush by?

and they don't even know you're dead

reach for sky
misty city
shining fingers
reach for life

Don't touch me baby
my streets are numbered
and I own mankind's biggest phallus

misty city
cry
weep
to me

don't
push
